Dutasteride capsules are used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia. It reduces the size of the enlarged prostate gland, alleviating symptoms such as pain and trouble passing urine.

Dutasteride Capsule may be taken with or without food. The dose and duration of the medication should be taken as prescribed. An overdose of it may be harmful to your health. The medicine should be taken at the same time every day and swallowed whole. It may take some time for the medicine to work on the symptoms, so take it on a daily basis. For the medicine to be effective, the treatment should be completed.
This medication is generally well tolerated. However, it may produce some minor sexual adverse effects, such as decreased sexual drive, difficulty obtaining and keeping an erection (impotence), and a drop in sperm count. Some people may also have allergic responses, such as itching, rashes, and swelling of the lips or face. If you have any of these side effects, contact your doctor immediately.

Before beginning treatment, inform your doctor if you are taking any medications for any health condition. Remember not to donate blood for six months following your last dose of this medication.
